About MIT
On the momentous day of 18th july 1949, a brilliant radiance inundated the newly independent India. That was the birth of the Madras Institute of Technology, the brainchild of an insightful leader and a magnanimous philanthropist Shri .C. Rajam. It was the rare genius and daring of its founder that made MIT offer courses like Aeronautical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Instrument Technology for the first time in our country. Ever since its inception this institution has been a source of resplendent light of knowledge spreading the warmth of its sunshine not only on the technical arena but also on the overall developmental aspect of the students. This renowned institute, a part of Anna University since 1978, has always provided a strong foundation for its students. We, the students, conditioned by this illustrious organization, have always strived to better our arsenal to take on this world, never wasting a moment to rest on our laurels. The indisputable fact that a number of MITians are heading various reputed organizations stands as a testimony to the top notch Engineers produced by this institute.
